About Medical One



Medical One Corporation (M1) is one of the Philippines’ largest medical equipment distributor companies dealing in the importation, distribution and servicing of medical equipment. It also imports and distributes medical supplies. With headquarters at the 14th Floor of the West Tower, PSE Center, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, M1 does business all over the Philippines. It serves a wide range of medical equipment needs of hospitals and clinics for diagnostic imaging in ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI, X-ray and others. It also offers life support, operating theater and patient care systems for medical specialties such as perinatology, ENT, neurology, cardiology and other specialties.


M1 traces its roots to its predecessor, 85K Enterprises, which was originally set up in Cebu in 1982 by Wilbur B. Canonigo, M1’s President and CEO to initially cover the Visayas and Mindanao areas. In a major strategic move, it transferred its central operating headquarters to Metro Manila in 1995 and renamed itself Medical One Corporation. Backed by over 32 years of experience in ultrasound and diagnostic imaging systems, it is now in a synergistic partnership with Philips Healthcare as its ultrasound authorized distributor. Among its other current partners are Natus, Planmed, Ziehm Imaging, O-two, vivosonic, Villa Sistemi, Swissray, Del Medica, Medicapture, TCL, Colin and RF.


M1 takes pride in its 98-strong highly skilled workforce, many of them with long years of experience in the medical selling and servicing professions. It also boasts of a pool of clinical specialists ready to assist customers in their application support needs at a moment’s notice, through its headquarters in Pasig City and its regional branch in Cebu City.

Employee recruitment processes are being fine-tuned to attract industry-fit talents. Organizational development efforts are under way to further hone talents, make them more competent and proficient in their jobs, and enable them to handle bigger responsibilities and tasks. This is affected through seminars, workshops and personal coaching and mentoring, carried out in an environment conducive to personal growth and career development, with the end in view of making them feel good about themselves and happy with their stay at Medical One. M1 prides itself in having an in-house call center facility providing easy access to M1 sales and service personnel. It currently operates from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays, though plans are underway to make it an eventual 24/7 operation.

To ensure effective and efficient service to its clients, M1 is currently setting up an ISO 9000 quality management system which it expects to complete by the 2nd quarter of 2014.
